Gabrielle Eliza Darko is an internationally published photographer originally from Houston, Texas but currently based in New York, New York...and wherever else the world decides to take her next!

 

Gabrielle’s interest in photography began her sophomore year of high school. She was the designated camera person at family gatherings to capture snippets of their time for lasting memories, but she soon realized it was about more than that for her. With her dad being in international business, she traveled a lot at a young age and carried her camera with her everywhere she went. She began to fall in love with photography and was fascinated by the idea that one single click can tell one hundred stories. With that idea, she started to do photojournalistic work and by her senior year of high school, she had officially started her business giving us...Eliza Photography. Throughout college, she has broadened even more of her talent by offering services related to fitness, academia, sports, brands, and even corporate. 

 

Gabrielle’s favorite form of photography is through film. Outside of one fundamental analog class in high school, Gabrielle has been completely self-taught in this profession. However, that one film class had a great impact on how she shoots today. Gabrielle often explains that with 35mm film you only have thirty-six shots on a roll. You have to skillfully and manually maneuver each shot so that you don’t waste them. She has also transferred that knowledge to her digital platform. She continues to use that approach in all creative expressions of her art today.
